Unfurnished Farm

I’m taking a very small break from my Barnacle Bay project to bring you this unfurnished New England farm. I did originally intend to use it in my own game, but my plans for this particular lot changed a bit (more on that in a future post!), so I figured I may as well share it with you all in its current condition. There are no room divisions, lights, wallpapers, plumbing, or anything like that, but the build is fully landscaped. It’s on a big lot so I’ve tried to rely as much as possible just on terrain paints, to help minimize lag.

There are no carrots or peaches (because I forgot about them – sorry) and no speciality plants (e.g. cheese, omni), but all the other EP and store plants should be present, and they are all perfect quality of course. The build, such as it is, has been play-tested. The only problem I came across was that the tractor track becomes unroutable when it’s in use, so I’ve made sure sims don’t need to cross the track to get into the house; just try not to have a sim manually tending the garden at the same time as another is riding the tractor, or they might get temporarily blocked in. Here is the layout of the lot.

The lot for which I originally started building the farm – 432 Tidal Terrace in Barnacle Bay – offers lovely ocean views, and I have positioned the back patio in such a way as to allow clear views of both sunrise and sunset.

I hope someone finds a use for this shell! If you would like to upload a furnished version, please give credit to me and link back to this post. If you’d like to show me what you’ve done with it, I’d love to see – just leave me a link in the comments.

  1. This looks great!! I’m going to download it for sure. Will be fun furnishing it. Thanks for sharing. Do you still have the write ups for each family? I know I read about them but it’s not the same when I go on the downloads site. Have a great day! Glory

  2. Sorry I just checked this site and it’s now 5 days after your question. I was thinking about the families, I can remember reading all the background stories for the characters but haven’t been able to find those again on the Exchange. Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong section? I can find the characters but not their stories. I was so intrigued by them all…is it possible to find them? Thanks for your newest entry The Farmer’s Market. I can’t imagine the amount of work that required! Such talent! Have a wonderful day…

    • Oh that’s okay – I know you don’t get notified or anything when I reply 🙂

Ah hah, yes, I think I know what you mean now! Not all my families are up on this site yet because I’m uploading new versions of them at the same time as their houses.

However, most of my old households are still in my studio: http://www.thesims3.com/userExchange.html?persona=GreenCats&assetType=household In the description for each family there’s usually a link to a forum post, where you can read more about them.

Alternatively, you can go to the index in my creative thread on the old forums an browse through them there. Here is the link to the thread: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/643057.page The families are the ones with the black backgrounds in the second post down. Some of the oldest ones aren’t included in the index, but there’s still a bigger selection than you’ll find here.

If it’s my CAS sims you’re looking at (rather than my households), I don’t usually write detailed bios for them.

I’m so glad you like the new build! Yes, it was quite a lot of work to get all the bits and pieces together, but I’ve been doing it off and on, and working on other things in between. The architecture build itself didn’t take too long because it just some little sheds!

Happy simming and thanks for stopping by xxx

  3. Thanks for the second link it’s exactly what I wanted!!! I’ve bookmarked it and hoping that I can find it again. For some reason many of my bookmarks seem to disappear into the “mystical bog of lost bookmarks”…lol but not so funny when I want to wade through and find them without success!
