Any sims looking for some new artwork, a bottle of nectar to take home, or just to grab a coffee with friends, will find everything they need at 61 Driftwood Drive. The building consists of three self-contained units – a nectar shop, art shop, and coffee shop. I’ve zoned it as a Java Hut (open 5am-1am), because that’s what works for me, but you may wish to play around with different lot types.
You may have noticed that a large chunk of the sims I have uploaded for Barnacle Bay so far are related to one another. Here is their family tree. Click the image for a full size version 🙂
Korey and his little brother Alasdair were raised by their dad and granddad on a farm in Riverview. But Korey never enjoyed weeding plants or taking country walks, and both he and Alasdair dreamed of more glamorous careers, full of action, adventure, and romance. In pursuit of the life for which he wished, Korey take a degree in technology at Sims University, and enrolled in the police force, eventually working his way up its secret agent branch to become an international super spy. Despite some personal differences, he’s managed to develop a solid working relationship with his partner, Agent Jodie Riggins-Shue. When they’re out on a job, he helps her keep her kleptomania in check, while she (somewhat less successfully) tries to get him to overcome his dislike of fresh air.
Korey’s wife Tina always enjoyed looking after herself by keeping fit and eating well. She spent most of her adult life as Barnacle Bay’s strongest, bravest patrol officer before her boss Jodie encouraged her to take on a fresh set of challenges by earning a technology degree and having a go at crime scene forensics. Tina is based on Tina Touch from Barnacle Bay.
Unlike his dad, Korey and Tina’s son Richard loves spending time outdoors, especially when there’s fish to catch. Plenty of his extended family would be more than happy to take him to a good spot, but Richard prefers to wonder off alone and get lost in his own thoughts. Conversely, Richard’s little brother Bryan would much rather stay indoors and play. (I have young adult CAS spoilers for both Richard and Bryan if you’re interested.)
The family lives in the center of town next door to Kina and Fern. I wanted the layout and roof line of their home to be a bit higgledy-piggledy, to suggest that the architecture had been modified and expanded multiple times over the centuries.
This seafront spa features massage chairs, indoor and outdoor massage tables, à la carte dining, sun loungers, two saunas, restrooms, and a small swimming pool. The pictures show it in an almost empty version of Barnacle Bay, but when I have everything in place it will be conveniently situated between the gym and cafe.
Elementary school princial Kina enjoys cooking, photography, DIY, and throwing parties. She was raised in Isla Paradiso by her brother Kamani; but, when she graduated from high school, he and his wife moved to Dragon Valley. Kina herself headed off to university, earning first-class degrees in Business and Communications, before accepting a job opportunity at the school in Barnacle Bay. Kina loves her work, but wants children even more, and would be happy to take a little bit of time off to have one or two, while her career-minded girlfriend Fern continues to support the family.
Fern shares Kina’s social confidence and playful sense of humour. They are both very proud of the home they’ve made together, and like to keep it sparklingly clean and full of life. She knows that things will become a lot more messy once Kina gets pregnant, but, as the oldest of four siblings, Fern’s definitely used to that. For now, she’s enjoying the relative peace and quiet to focus on the sports team she manages, keep fit, and stay in touch with friends. Fern is based on Fern Annan from Barnacle Bay.
Kina and Fern at live at 47 Rock Pool Park, in a newly built home they’ve rather whimsically christened ‘Sea’s the Day’. (Thanks to willky12 for this fun name!)
The house features open plan kitchen, dining, and living spaces, two spacious double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, two bathrooms (one en suite, one shared), parking for two cars, a pumpkin patch, and a tiny exercise room. It costs 145,324 simoleons, not including the pictured car – you’ll find that in Fern’s inventory, and a blue convertible in Kina’s.
From 6am to midnight, sims can enjoy live entertainment, sweet treats, and sea views at the Showtime Cafe, 1609 New Barnacle Boulevard.
Sabina‘s brother Donato is an aspiring politician. During his communications degree at university he developed a love of photography, which he likes to practice in his spare time. He met his wife Gillian when she was catering a fundraiser for him at city hall. In a classic meet cute, she spilled a tray of dips all over him, he made a joke of it, and they’ve been madly in love ever since.
Donato’s quiet, well-meaning wife Gillian loves to cook and appreciates a good joke. She currently works at the seafood restaurant High Tide, but dreams one day of running her own five-star establishment.
Donato and Gillian’s son Samuel is a happy, friendly little boy. His favourite toy is his Sim Fu panda bear, which he always cuddles close to him as he sleeps in his cot.
This is the family home, Ladybug. Thanks to my friend Ciane for the lovely name! Downstairs you’ll find a sitting room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom (with en suite), nursery (with en suite), and WC. A guest bedroom and further bathroom are located on the second floor.
